Always fun, wit and wisdom combined.
Hi George,
It's great hearing your humor again. I'll be a regular listener from now on.
I enjoyed your interview with Joe more than I can say. It was great hearing you guys talk about the old days. Remember Albuquerque? My first road trip with a band (GEO). It turned out to be the first of many. I've got my own band in Austin now. I think of you often, especially before we do a Doors song.
Anyway, I'm very sorry for your loss. I know Joe was one of your dearest friends. Everything you said about him was spot-on. He was a great, loyal man and musician. Thanks for sharing your last visit with him.
Great web-site George!!
totally awesome!!
George, thank you so much for your article on Joe. I dated him for a short while when he was playing for Southern Reign in Corpus Christi, Texas. Fortunately, I was able to reconnect with him through Facebook about a year ago. What a wonderful experience that was. Because of you, I was able to hear his voice once again after 27 years. Again, thank you very much. Lorri (Pugh) Shelton
Thank you George for airing and sharing Joe's interview. Ironically, I live in the Nashville area...and was just down the street from Vanderbilt Hospital on the day of your visit. Joe has been my best friend for the past 26 years. I met him when he was playing with Southern Reign. Joe is the reason I moved to Nashville.
It broke my heart when I received Alex's email about Joe's passing. Your radio show has been an answered prayer because I had JUST said to myself that I wish I could hear Joe's voice "one more time." And like Jeannie, I laughed through my own tears. I look forward to meeting you at the memorial service. Take care and God Bless! Sincerely, Anyta
George, you old scoundrel, you have not changed one iota since 1976 when Joe Alford and I got married. Your tribute to Joe was wonderful, and when you started talking about Bertha I was laughing through my tears. I always told Joe that damn bass guitar was the only "woman" that ever came between us. Even thought we split in 1980, we remained in touch and have stayed close friends all these years. We were laughing on June 18th of this year that it would have been our 35th wedding anniversary if you, the band and Bertha hadn't come between us. Well, Bertha more than you and the band, but I couldn't let you off that easy. I always smile when I think of you, and laugh when I recall you and Joe on stage cutting up, where ever or what ever the dive or the gig, it was always an adventure and I wouldn't trade those early years in Huntsville and Houston for a chance at another lifetime. Thanks to you, and our Joe, for making those years so special. And thanks so very, very much for airing the interview. As soon as I heard his voice, I knew how much I would miss him, and how much I've always loved him, no matter what. Hope to see you at the memorial service.
Hugs and warm regards, Joe's #1 and always favorite ex - Jeannie
Fantastic job at the "Recall Joe" tonight. It was a pleasure to see you in person.
Hey George, Not any SP time so let's do some radio talk. I love
your stuff in The Parrot. Go see
"Sordid Lives." You will guggle for days.
I enjoy your interviews and your take on what is happening in Galveston. Plus you are very funny! Going forward you can count me in as a regular listener.
I'm hooked on your show and am counting the days until the next installment of the radio show that snaps with electricity.
Loved your take on the Leblanc fiasco. Keep up the good work shoveling s*** at the Mayor. What a poor acting job indeed! You read my mind.
A link from the Galveston Daily News forum section led me to your front door. Best thing I ever got from that newspaper. Funny, timely, current, and so truthful it's scary.
It is always a delight to talk with George - he somehow manages to get his guests to spill the beans on every single issue! Love ya, George!
Cheryl
George! You are hilarious and precious, all at the same time! Love hearing you!
Is that SP Cecily Storm with an essay? Couldn't finish listening to this episode but will be back to hear the rest. You rock!
It was such fun to do the interview and to see your studio as well! I always enjoy your energy, and your enthusiasm about my work and PeckArts gallery gives me a big boost. Thank You so much for your kind words, support and interest! So fun to discuss some of the things we talked about with another passionate artist! Keep up the good work. You always put a smile on my face!
I always enjoy being interviewed by the one and only George D. Lee. This recent interview - from my perspective - was the best ever. There is simply no radio host better than George D. Lee! Onward! mayor Joe
Was Shakespeare referring to Galveston City Council when he wrote in Macbeth:
"Double, double toil and trouble..."
George's arrows hit every mark in "The Daily Noise". More...More...
George, the interview was a blast and your energy is great for the show! It was allot of fun and hope to do it again. Thanks again!
Ryan and I look forward to seeing you at your grand opening for your new art studio!
I also have enjoyed keeping up with my community by listening to your show!
Now, go do your homework with Eddie!
Keep it pawsitive!

George your interviews are an incredibly valuable resource for our city! Keep up the great work!!
Hi George!! Steve just gave me your website so I thought I would say hi!! Look forward to meeting you!! :(
George, you are a great radio host and interviewer. You are the Larry King of Galveston. Truly, you have the most timely guests and topics, and handle all with a professional style which puts your guest at ease.
Keep up the good work, and can't wait to see your new political satire rag...hope we can get it online!
I love your music. Where have you been and why haven't I heard of you until now. Great Music
My parents live in Galveston and sent me this link. Living in Cairo Egypt, my entertainment selections are very slim. They sent me episode 16 to listen to which I liked very much. I will continue to listen and laugh. Keep it coming.
congratulations on a great web site. I see Galveston's music making a strong comeback after Ike. I visited with Bubba Donovan's Island Music on 25th, between Market and Postoffice, noting that he will have live music on the sidewalk every other Thursday night. You guys, along with Frank Incaprerra, get together and help make music a big part of Galveston's recovery.
Good luck and great music!
Nice site!
Good Luck!
just checking it out. i forgot to tell you, me and Jay "Dot" spent our first time playing together with Bert Wills on stage. Just thought that you'd find that interesting. see ya-

You are so talented.
Cool web site! I see you're still livin' large.
Great Web Site. Very original, and the music is good.
Wow! You're amazing. Can't wait to see one of your plays.
Has it really been 40 years? Sorry you won't be there in July. Great to see your pix on this site.

Sent this on to my "4 fours"......four favorite first grade friends, Judy, Franie, Sally and Cathy. You'll likely hear from them all!
Franie was actually on the front page of the Galveston Daily today making her case for retaining more teachers in GISD.
Enjoyed reading about your many faceted career.....wouldn't have expected any less! Planning to forward it to my son who worked for a few years for both Tony and Ridley Scott in LA.....he's tremendously into the music scene as well.
Kay Walker Carr
Hi George. Got your info from Kay Walker. I'm sorry you won't be there in July. I'd love to catch up. Hope to see you sometime.
